
This quarterly report submitted by the Lead Inspector General for Operation Enduring
Sentinel (OES) summarizes the events that took place in Afghanistan this quarter (Jan – Mar),
including the status of terrorist organizations, such as ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) and
al-Qaeda, as well as U.S. diplomatic and humanitarian efforts related to Afghanistan.
The report is submitted to Congress every quarter. This latest issue is 52 pages long and covers the following topics:

Some Highlights:
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) annual terror threat assessment said the Afghanistan-based ISIS-K aims to attack the United States.
President Trump has issued an executive order suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). This paused all flights from Afghanistan for all Afghans eligible for relocation assistance, including Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants.
The administration has moved to terminate the Voice of America Pashto Service. The journalists working in this program were placed on administrative leave. Since 2006, the Pashto VOA service has provided a credible news source, broadcasting into areas that are inaccessible for most American news sources.
