DoD Identifies Casualties of Bagram Air Field Suicide Bombing

Casualties of the Bagram Airfield Suicide Bombing on Nov 12, 2016 Veterans Day

The Department of Defense has identified the casualties of Veterans Day bombing in Afghanistan. On November 12th, 2016 on Veterans Day an explosion caused by a suicide bomber resulted in four deaths and 17 wounded. Two of the deaths were U.S. Army Soldiers and two were U.S. contractors. The wounded were all U.S. Soldiers except for one Polish Soldier. Five of the wounded were returned to duty and 12 others were MEDEVAC’d to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

The two Soldiers were assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Killed were:

SGT John W. Perry, 30 , of Stockton, California
PFC Tyler R. Lubelt, 20, of Tamaroa, Illinois
