Special Forces Memorial Monument – NE Florida

SF Monument Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery, Florida

Chapter 88 of the Special Forces Association based in the greater Jacksonville, Florida area is conducting a fundraiser to raise money to construct, deliver, and install a new Special Forces Memorial Monument for the Veterans Affairs Jacksonville National Cemetery.

The Jacksonville National Cemetery is a relatively new cemetery, opened in 2009, with very few memorials and monuments in its “Walk of Remembrance”. Chapter 88 has started a fundraiser campaign with GoFundMe.com and is looking for contributions for this very important memorial monument.

The goal is to raise enough money before the end of December 2025 and unveil the monument in a ceremony on April 11, 2026. Raising the bulk of the funds needed by December will help finalize contracts, pay for construction, and attend to a host of other details in time for the April ceremony. The link to the GoFundMe page is at the bottom of this article. The ceremony will coincide with the 39th anniversary of the Special Forces Branch.

Burial in a VA national cemetery is open to all members of the armed forces who have met a minimum active duty service requirement and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.
